Until I notice your comment I didn't realize it was matrix style... I mean its an awsome mix, I guess mario throws off the matrix feel (pun intended). Sounds more like a funky dance mix than a matrix/mario mix. Would go great with a mario style matrix spoof/parody/etc.

You should really try making your own stuff, I mean you definitely got the mixing stuff down, now just make your own music and apply it and it will be epic. or you could always do a bunch of collabs with a good music writer if your "meh" at it.

First, I like the church bell entrance, really gives you the feeling you're in a graveyard... at night. I noticed that it has a delay of 2 beats instead of 1 like the rhythm guitar, but then again it would be to fast for the bells and maybe to slow for the guitar. The delay effect really makes the song sound... less "straight forward".
I also like the entrance of the rhythm guitar, perfectly done so that it sounds mysterious. I like how your trying to add background stuff to amplify the effect of the song. I don't find anything "messy", except there's alot sort of going on at 2:45, and it's unimportant but annoying, but you can't hear the rhythm guitar at some points during the song. Might just be hard to differentiate the two guitars. Maybe try a bass guitar next time?
I also like the whole techno/rock mix theme (it's better than having a piano all the time ^^).
I love the lead guitar's third solo section at 2:06, it's very dramatic and excellently adds to the general effect. I especially like the Q&A between octaves during the second half.

I hear what you mean about it bein trippy. sounds like a rap/techno mix style. sounds nice. kinda repetative, but thats all i dont like about it...dont see why no one else likes it but i think its cool, like a gagnstageeks themesong lol.
